There's no need to use special pitching machine balls with this machine - it won't rip or tear leather or synthetic ball covers. It can throw baseballs or softballs. It's lightweight and portable (weighs about 25 pounds), with no electricity required. And it's very affordable.
The Ultimate Pitching Machine was designed to give you extra hitting time between your practices and games, and is perfect for the travel team that does not want to haul a heavy motorized machine.
You load a ball on the arm, pull back the lever, and the arm releases delivers the ball. The speed of the pitch is adjusted by setting the spring pin on the foot lever mechanism. The micro adjustment mechanism settings are for the size of the ball and the angle of the pitch. Stepping down delivers the full power to the spring.
As an added bonus, the Ultimate Pitching Machine can also be set to throw fly balls, line drives and grounders.
For baseball, the recommended distance is 35-40' from the plate (in front of mound) and the actual 43-46 mph equals reaction time of faster pitches. For softball, the recommended distance is 30-35 feet with 39-42 mph delivery. It can also be slowed down for coach-pitch leagues to 18 mph yet still maintain pitch consistency.
